Dental Implant Types at Dentfix

Single tooth implants repair a missing tooth and support a dental crown for a natural appearance and function.

Full mouth implants include inserting several implants in the upper and lower jaws to support a full set of dentures, resulting in a stable and pleasant method for tooth replacement.

Additional Treatments

Some additional treatments may be required depending on the problems you have. If your bone density is not enough to support dental implants, you will require bone grafting before getting dental implants.

If your sinuses are closed, you might need a sinus lift operation during your implant procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are full mouth implants?

Full mouth implants include all-on-4, all-on-6, and all-on-8 implants, providing a complete solution for tooth replacement. Unlike traditional methods, which require an implant for each missing tooth, these full-mouth implants use a set number of implants—typically 4 or 6—strategically placed in the gums to support an entire arch of teeth for both the upper and lower jaws.

The requirement for temporary teeth following an implant treatment varies according to the type of implant you receive. Temporary dentures are frequently used throughout the healing process for full mouth implants such as all-on-4 or all-on-6. Temporary teeth may not be required for treatments involving a single implant, especially if the tooth is located in the back of your mouth.

Dental implants are relatively simple to maintain. Your dental hygiene practice may require minor alterations depending on the amount of implants you have. Regular flossing is even more important for maintaining good oral health.

Local anesthetic is used in the procedure and it keeps you comfortable during the implant operation. This anesthesia numbs the area, removing any sensation of discomfort. While the surgery is usually painless, you may feel some pressure on your jaw when the dentist creates an opening in the bone.

Dental implants have zero chance of damaging neighboring teeth. Whether it is a single implant or a full mouth restoration, implants are only placed where they are essential. Maintaining proper dental hygiene habits is crucial to preserving the integrity of the surrounding teeth.

Dental implant procedures can be applied to patients who have good general health and who have enough jawbone. The success rate of the procedure is high when it is applied to patients who have no gum disease and do not smoke.

It restores the chewing function. It prevents the jawbone from melting. It does not damage neighboring teeth. It is long-lasting and can be used for a lifetime with good care.

Implant placement usually takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour. However, the healing process and placement of the prosthesis can take between 3-6 months.

Our patient consulted us for a full-mouth dental implant. However, he had no bone in his upper jaw which is critical for dental implants to succeed. For his case, we applied zygomatic dental implants. Zygomatic implants require special expertise in the dentistry field.
