Veneers Procedure
The veneer procedure is done in two steps. On your first visit, the front of your teeth will be shaved a little. It is different from dental crown preparation.
On your second visit, your veneers will be put on.
How Are Veneers Put On?
The lab sends your veneers the our clinic. They are separated shell-like teeth. Your teeth will be cleaned from the bacteria to prevent decay and stains. Dental cement is used as a bonding agent. This bonding agent is dried with UV light. One by one, your veneers will be put on. And Voila! You have your veneers and a perfect smile!
How Are They Made?
On your first visit, your dentist takes a 3D scan of your teeth. This impression is sent to the lab.
On a computer, your veneers are designed with the latest CAD/CAM technology. With this method, we get the most accurate results.
The material you choose is given to a machine that carves your veneers. The veneers are baked and carved perfectly for the best suitability and durability.
How to Understand You Have Veneers, Not Crowns
X-rays tell everything. You can ask for your after-X-rays to understand if you have crowns or veneers.
On X-rays, crowns show up as white because zirconia contains metal. However, veneers are translucent on X-ray, you can only see your teeth.
How to Choose A Color for Your Veneers
Your dentist will give you a color scale for your new teeth. The colors start from extremely white to yellowish color. There are nearly 10 shades.
Natural teeth color are generally number 3 and 4. If you want to have a natural white color, you can choose 2 or 3 depending on your skin color. If you want an extremely white, unnatural appearance, you can pick the number 1 shade.
